PhD Candidate in Probabilistic Machine Learning
Project Focus & Research Scope
Research Direction
The PhD candidate will work on developing novel Bayesian inference algorithms and software tools for probabilistic programming. Key themes include variational inference, Gaussian processes, and model selection techniques for high-dimensional clinical and physical datasets.
Lab Culture and Facilities
The Finnish Center for Artificial Intelligence (FCAI) and the Department of Computer Science at Aalto University offer a vibrant and international research community. The group has direct access to CSC's high-performance supercomputing infrastructure (Mahti and Puhti clusters), which are among the fastest in Northern Europe.
