Project Focus & Research Scope

Research Direction

The project will focus on the synthesis of novel quantum materials, including topological insulators and unconventional superconductors, using flux-growth and chemical vapor transport techniques. The researcher will also utilize high-resolution spectroscopy to analyze physical properties at ultra-low temperatures.

Lab Culture and Facilities

The Fisher Group at Stanford Applied Physics department operates advanced material growth furnaces and magnetic measurement systems. Members work in close collaboration with the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Lightsource (SSRL) and the Stanford Institute for Materials and Energy Sciences (SIMES).

Required Academic Qualifications

  • 1M.Sc. or strong B.Sc. in Physics, Materials Science, or Chemistry
  • 2Experience in laboratory research and solid-state materials synthesis
  • 3Basic knowledge of quantum mechanics and crystallography
